Background of Technology Company of the Year
Established since 2007, Technology Company of the Year Award is an integral part of the annual Computerworld Hong Kong Awards. The Award aims to recognize and promote Hong Kong-based innovation in technology development, as well as their excellence in business execution.

  • To promote Hong Kong technology firms for their innovation, business and operational excellence.
  • To recognize Hong Kong technology firms for their roles in representing Hong Kong in the technology market.
  • Award for Hong Kong-based company that is selected as the foremost company of the year in the provision of IT products and/or services to organizations locally and overseas that has been integral to the advancement of the local IT industry.
  • Must be a Hong Kong-headquartered company (overseas MNCs in HK are not allowed)
  • A technology or service provider for enterprises/business (consumer technologies and applications are excluded)
  • Previous winners of Technology Company of the Year are not encouraged to re-enter
Judging criteria
Submission will be evaluated by a panel of judges from leading industry authorities and our editors who will decide the winner based on its achievements over the last 12-18 months and the following criteria:
  • Business and technology innovation
  • Business strategy and execution
  • Competitiveness in the global market
  • Business achievements and performance

Judging Panel
Herman Lam - CEO of Cyberport Management Company Limited

As the CEO of Cyberport, Herman Lam is playing a prominent role to promote and implement Cyberport’s public mission strategies. Lam sets the initiatives with comprehensive programs in assisting the development of Hong Kong as a hub for innovation and trade in ICT, and encouraging the development and upgrade of ICT skills and resources in the wider community of Hong Kong.

Gordon Lo – General Manager (IT Industry Development) of Hong Kong Productivity Council

Gordon Lo has more than 30 years of IT experience. Before joining HKPC, he worked at international consultancy firms and had involved in large-scale IT projects such as the Hong Kong International Airport and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Currently, he is a member of the ICT Advisory Committee of Trade Development Council, the Vice-Chairman of the Modern Enterprise Integration & Innovation Association and an advisor of Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2012.

Joshua Wong – Former Vice President, Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Professor Wong Sook Leung, Joshua is Professor Emeritus and former Vice President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Wong is also an advisor of Hong Kong Innovative Tech Preferred (HKITP), a local organization that promotes s and ensures product quality among local tech ventures. Wong is also President of the Hong Kong Semiconductor Industry Council (an Honorable Member of the Chinese Semiconductor Industry Association) of the Hong Kong Electronics Industry Association.
